Happy Birthday Lionel Messi Forum!

At 0:33 GMT - 24/12/08 - the forum will officially be one year old.
In celebration, I have been preparing a post over the last few weeks which will remind us of our memories over that year (or at least when I've been here
). I will post this at 0:33GMT on 24th December.

Well, it's here.
First off, let me apologise in advance for the typing errors I'm sure will be in here!
12 months ago to the minute, Islam created this forum. Within a few days the first scattering of users came from the infamous 'old forum'. I am glad to see that most of them are still with us today. Periods of this 12 month reign have been difficult for all of us I'm sure. Islam and Ishita to name just two come under this section. Personally, I know that school work can get on top of us, and whilst I can't speak for anyone else, I've had a wide array of personal issues sidetracking me.
But here we are. Another 148 members, and 16680 messages later, the forum is as good as it's ever been. It is quite hard to understand how much the forum has changed in my time here. The Forum has seen many more additional features. The introduction of a Key Topics bar, the expansion of the forums portal, a brand new Forum Favicon, and a moving welcome message. Of course, all of this works around the new skin. The Facebook account idea I hope helped in expansion. I love the match topics, they are possibly what keeps the active relevant discussions alive. As I'm sure we know, as every Barcelona and Argentina game has a topic, they are stored in the match archive when they have passed by.
From another personal viewpoint, I am very proud with the success of the media sections. The Forum Youtube account is doing well. With over 55,000 video views. Related to that, the picture gallery is as popular as ever with over 500 pictures in total! With the willing picture contributors and now Kariem posting - and making - many videos, I can only see further success in this department
But perhaps that's not important at all. Perhaps there is another aspect. The social side of the forum. Indeed, I never thought I would be in regular affectionate contact with so many people from the corners of the world. I speak to a fair number of you guys regularly on MSN, and also in the new Forum Chatbox. I would like to thank you all for being so kind to me over the months in which I have been here. At times it's not easy for in this place. Without disrespecting anyone here, I do feel that this forum is dependent on me, and that without me, it would really struggle. I'd like to think I'm wrong, but I can't. Maybe one day you will. However, I do manage to do my duties, which I wont bore you with, and I'm happy to do so.
The Fun and games section of the forum has been very very popular, in fact it has more posts than Lionel Messi Chat. Our bid to reach 0 in the countdown topic is making progress. Albeit slow.
Two of my favorite laughs on the forum have came in the form of videos. Ray Hudsons superlative commentary had me in stitches. With lines such as 'you could have hardly have blamed him if you missed', 'it's just as well he didn't get a hand to it, otherwise it would have taken it of his wrist' and 'spreading his arms out like a big windmill calling for the ball'. You have to love it.
Secondly, is the clip of Bojan running backstage with Piques shorts. Magic.
A memorable conversation took place between myself and Shaikha. Regarding the use of the 'urban dictionary phrase' 'gr8'. More importantly its adaptations. Is anybody reading this? Albeit stupid to look at now, I'll never forget the hysterics I was in after informing her that I was feeling 'gr7'. 'gr7' meaning not quite great - or gr8 - but better than just plain good. Naturally this would be followed up by a claim of being 'gr9', Which is an emotion experienced when one is even better than great - or gr8-.
Birthday wishes are a recurring theme too. One particular birthday produced insane results:

To Mr. Messi,
I'm so glad that you have proved yourself as the undisputed king and we are very proud to be with you in every match. It is our honour to support you whilst playing with Barca or your country, Argentina. We want to fly out to Beijing to watch you win a gold medal that will make us overjoyed and show even more support to the extreme. I would love it if you bring barca to multiple titles in the upcoming season! My favorite goal has to be last year when you scored that famous goal against Getafe that resembled a goal scored by the legendary Diego Armando Maradona. This goal has dubbed you 'the best goal ever'.
We created a forum for you, it's the best. We hope that one day we will get to call ourselves 'the biggest Messians ever" because we are truly devoted to you and are stupid to have criticized doms english, because we aren't the greatest speakers of the universe but we try to make ourselves clear. Some of us think that you, though prone to play the most unorthodox footballing style,which makes the fact your so unbelievable at what you do, are the most spectacular player to grace the football field in Barcelona, Catalonia and of course.. the entire world.
You stand here as our idol and our hero. You are the inspiration to literally the entire world. Here's a question: What is it that makes you so unbelievably special? I think it's safe to say that you're awesome.
As I've said before the pictures are always highly anticipated and produced. Here are some personal favorite memories:
