Okay, whyever is this forum suddenly so quiet?

Not that I'm mad or anything but it seems like that it's just gone dead or something... Has everyone ran out of topic or are you ppl just plain busy? Crying or Very sad

Great... Starting in June? But that's gonna be long and I had just finished my first term exam and holiday's coming up in a couple of weeks. But June? I'll be having my mid year holz and its gonna be fun! jocolor

I just learned that I wouldn't be around for a few days during the June holz... I might be going to Malaysia with my bro for this whatever...Church camp? Was it? It sould be it and my parents enrolled my bro and I in it...

*BIG sigh* That means that I wouldnt be around for a few days for that time... And it also means no touching the computer, no internet and no contact with whatsoever electronic gadgets... saaaaaaaad and BORING!

I dunno. They hadn't really confirmed with me yet but most probably I would be gone for probably four, or maybe five days? I'm not sure yet... Cuz I only have 10 days holidays... So:

!0 days holidays...
Let just say I'll be gone for 5 days...

(5 days left...)

I gotta do my homework: takes at least 2 days

(3days left)

Revision for the upcoming 2nd assessment test... Takes the rest of the holiday away. Including other normal school days where I will be having lots and lots of revisions, tests, homeworks and classes.

In short, it will mean that I have a very packed schedule during that time and I wouldn't be able to post like how I usually do...until October onwards... Which is very far away. So?

Well, right!
Well, if god helps me lose my hols like that then I'll drop dead by the end of this year. Probably. Anywayz, but still, I have my 1st term holz comin up in approximately 10 days... And it's only a 10 day hols with all the preparations for d schl's G.J. :( And it's gonna be pretty bored too.

Yeah I know Lydia how it feels losing your holidays.....but my schul is being a bit extra generous and practically giving us holidays every alternate day...but I guess that they are just trying to be generous coz from august, they are going to make us work like slaves!! Crying or Very sad

Quick question that i hope you may have some advice.....

I'm considering graduating earlier so that means i'll pretty much be leaving high school i believe when Ishita does. My guidance says i shouldn't do it because im a screened music student and it'll be hard to double up in classes. It'll be alot of work!

Should i give it a try next year or back down?
I just want some opinions before i make a possibly bad or great decision.

I'd suggest that u don't do it...It'll possibly be an awful lot of work...

I know how it is taking advanced lessons as I've already began stuffs which are taught in the 11th n 12th grade n I'm still in my 10th now. It's a grt deal of physical strain and mental pressure but I have to do it as I want to go 2 d US to study engineering and there'll be a lottt of competition there, so I need to advance in my subjects in order to excel. But it's stressful... affraid

But can you tell me one thing....how does the education system go there? Do u start college after high schul or u start universuty??

You're so far the third to say that but one with different reasons. really, i don't plan on doing all of that in school. I mainly want to earn the credits next summer(2009) but do those small easy courses at school. I already took one regents exam in 8th grade and will take 1 or 2 in June(im not sure if i have to Global history but i have to do chemistry) I take math A regents in Jan 09. so really for me, it doesnt seem like alot.

Besides, even if i do the full 4 years, i was planning to do more work anyway to get some credits for college. I rather grad. High School a year early than grad. college a year early. I feel i can do it, i have been under pressure before but i know i can manage. I only need at least a 65 to pass the regents. (though of course i'll try for better)

I don't plan on going on senior trip or prom and stuff and i'm willing to take the time. My dream is NYU and that is a top school. If not NYU, I have NCSU,Havard,Yale,Stanford,Bard and the University of Virginia to consider. but im in love with NYU.

Here College is University. Same exact thing just two different words to say it. NYU(New York University) for example is still a college. =) And yes, it's started after high school in August.

But to differentiate between the words. Universities usually have more than one school. For example, NYU has schools for the Arts & Science, Nursing, Business, Mathematical Sciences, etc...
Colleges don't often if not at all...for example, Bard doesn't have all of that to my knowledge.
People tend to go for the Universities more and they tend to be the most expensive in tuition.

If you plan on coming here, have you thought of some colleges you want to attend?

I see...but how long do you have to study in the college?? Like in India u do you bachelors at college which is like 3 yrs and then masters which is 2 more years. But dat's in for general studies...if u want to specialize in a particular field like engineering and stuffs, then you have to give a competitive exam and if u qualify there then u can do an integrated 4 yrs' course before u r fully qualified to do ur PhD.

My 1st choice will obviously be to get in2 the Indian Institute Of Technology(IIT) which is an extremely reputed institution, not only in India but worldwide. So if I get into there and complete my 4 yrs' course coz once I am in IITian, it will be easy for me to get to an university in d US as they recognise an IIT degree...but if I don't get a chance in IIT then I have to do my bachelors here and hopefully f I get a scholarship, I'd like to do my masters at any university at US like Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or stanford, or harvard or yale...

But now US is trying to do a nuclear deal with India and if the deal is finalised, then I'll also be getting an opportunity to do reserch on nuclear physics which really fascinates me...so I have loads of way open for me if I study hard n do well.

Well, there are the normal four years at first but you have to go some more years for your masters here. Also, it depends on what you actually want to be. Those extend in years. For example, anything in the Medical fields would probably take the most amount of work and years.

Have you checked out some of those websites for the colleges?
